MUNICIPAL WASTE Sign With EARACHE RECORDS
May 12, 2004Richmond, Virginia's "crossover kings" MUNICIPAL WASTE have inked a deal with Earache Records. MUNICIPAL WASTE deliver "blazing fast, raw thrash-core in the tradition of D.R.I., SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, 'Animosity'-era CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, NUCLEAR ASSAULT and ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT," according to an official press release. "All barely in their 20s, the members of MUNICIPAL WASTE inject youthful energy and humor into a classic genre they were too young to catch the first time around"
With a self-titled EP on Amendment Records, an LP entitled "Waste 'Em All" on Six Weeks Records, and several splits and comps under their belts, MUNICIPAL WASTE have quickly established themselves as the leaders of a fast-growing scene of bands resurrecting the spirit of the mid-'80s crossover scene. A sample the blazingly fast new-style metalcore of MUNICIPAL WASTE on the MP3 "Thrash? Don't Mind If I Do" from their "Waste 'Em All" CD can be downloaded here.
Says Earache U.S. boss Al Dawson: "The WASTE are a great match for Earache since they're inspired by some of the very earliest Earache bands. They're bringing a whole new level of energy to a classic style of music and making it relevant to a whole new generation of punk, hardcore, and metal fans."
MUNICIPAL WASTE had this to say: "We're bloody chuffed to be working with Earache. Expect nothing short of a raging, toxic, high-speed thrash assault!"
